Wolfenstein Youngblood: Won’t The Physical Edition For Switch Contain The Cartridge?

Wolfenstein Youngblood

During the recent PAX East 2019 in Boston, Bethesda finally announced the release date and various editions of Wolfenstein Youngblood, a cooperative-centered experience that will see players as William’s two daughters “BJ” Blazkowicz.

The release of the title is set for next July 26 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch in two different editions, Standard and Deluxe. In the United States of America, both will also be marketed in physical format, while in our country only the Deluxe Edition will receive a retail version. The latter, in addition to the basic game, will also offer the Buddy Pass (will allow you to invite a friend to play for free) and the Cyborg Skin Pack.

Having made these necessary premises, we focus on the physical editions of the Nintendo Switch version. According to what can be read on the websites of some of the major US retailers – including Amazon, Walmart, and GameStop – the retail editions for the hybrid console will not contain a cartridge inside them, merely offering a code to download the game.

We would like to point out that this information, for the moment, appears to be valid only for the North American market. We do not know, therefore, if the Deluxe Edition for Switch destined for our country will also suffer the same fate. We took a tour on the sites of the main Italian retailers and no mention is made of the contents of the package. While waiting for the issue to be clarified, we invite you, if you have not already done so, to watch the Wolfenstein Youngblood gameplay trailer.
