The case involving Take-Two Interactive and Rockstar Games against the Pinkerton Consulting agency comes to an end, with the latter accusing publishers and developers of having used their own Red Dead Redemption 2 logo without permission.
Pinkerton had dragged Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive to court at the end of 2018, last January the two companies responded to the accusation stating to be fully compliant with the exploitation of trademarks and copyrights, appealing to the first amendment of the American constitution.
Today Rockstar Games and Take-Two have decided to terminate the lawsuit: “Take-Two Interactive confirms that Pinkerton Consulting and Investigation Company has withdrawn the charges and consequently Take-Two will not continue the legal action that began last January. “
A spokesman for the publisher says that ” Red Dead Redemption II is a work set at the end of the 19th century that refers to brands and activities of the period with the aim of guaranteeing an accurate historical reconstruction without any profit or defamatory purpose.“
