Mortal Kombat 11 arrived today on our consoles, but the reviews have already been online for a while, and many agree in condemning a particular aspect of the game: the wild grinding.
Although the opinions on the NetherRealm fighting game are more than positive, in fact, the effort/reward system does not seem to be very balanced and there is, therefore, the suspicion that it was a way to direct players towards micro transitions.
In Mortal Kombat 11 you can indeed buy Time Crystals, which are used in turn to buy the personalizations of the characters, instead of earning them in-game. By making these objects extremely difficult to acquire in the game, the player is led to buy them out of frustration.
The software house for the truth rejected these accusations and promised to resolve the situation, improving the progression and rewards system, in order to increase the drop rate of the objects in question. Furthermore, there will be no need for a patch for this change, as NetherRealm will simply need to retouch a few numbers.
We’ll see if the change will make the game even more fun: in any case, the software house has stated that it wants to shape the game according to the feedback received from the user, so we expect further changes in the future. The latest news is the arrival of Frost on the Mortal Kombat 11 roster.
