Sony: PS4 At 96.8 Million Units Distributed; Presented Targets For March 2020


New data on PlayStation 4 past and future sales performances have recently emerged during a Sony financial meeting: here is the main news.

As regards the 2018/2019 fiscal year, which ended on March 31 this year, it was announced that the last quarter saw the distribution of around 2.6 million consoles. With this latest contribution, the Company has distributed a total of 96.8 million PlayStation 4! Also provided data relating to the PlayStation Plus: the subscription service concludes the fiscal year with a total of 36.4 million subscribers.

During the meeting, Sony’s goals for the current fiscal year were also shared, which, starting on April 1, 2019, will end in March 2020. During this time, the Company expects to be able to distribute an additional 16 million PlayStation 4 units. In the context of the reflections for this financial period, the ” next generation of consoles ” is also mentioned, for which an increase in development costs is expected.
