Celebrated the excellent sales of World War Z, the authors of Saber Interactive return to the digital basketball fields of NBA 2K Playgrounds 2 to inform us that the new update brings Cross-Play support to dowry on all versions of their sports arcade, except than on PlayStation 4.
As the same US developers report through the pages of their official Twitter profile, the latest update of their popular basketball title allows players on PC, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch to face each other in the same multiplayer lobbies and enjoy the benefits of a netcode unified management.
The exclusion of PlayStation 4 from the list of systems on which it is possible to play in NBA 2K Playgrounds 2 in cross-play, naturally, merely brings the attitude of Sony’s top management towards this important feature back to the center of the videogame debate.
According to many developers and industry players, such as Lewis Boadle of Fallen Tree Games, the Japanese technology giant is destined to open up to Cross Play on PS4 very soon due to the pressure exerted by enthusiasts to systematically implement this functionality, especially in the forecast of the increasingly forthcoming announcement of PS5.
