The Non-linear Gameplay Of Cyberpunk 2077 Will Take The Game To A “Next Level”

Cyberpunk 2077 looks like one of the most ambitious games currently under development. And it’s a bit like it should be since CDPR’s previous work is a certain The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. That being said, the Polish studio does not simply want to do a “new The Witcher 3” with a cyberpunk coating. Of course, it will be an open-world RPG, but the team is adding the formula to guarantee an evolution of the experience. One of the ways he intends to do this is to make the game less linear by offering more freedom to the player.

Speaking with Area Jugones, the Cyberpunk quest director 2077, Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz, explained that, while The Witcher 3 included mostly linear missions, the Cyberpunk 2077 quests will be more open, in the sense that they will allow players to choose how to approach any task. From the gameplay point of view, Cyberpunk 2077 will be much less linear.

” We still have the same elements that appeared in previous games, ” said Tomaszkiewicz. ” As I said before, we have decisions, consequences, characters, etc. I think the new thing in this project that will take it to the next level is the non-linearity of the gameplay, which we will achieve when we play the missions .”

Because in The Witcher we had a cycle basic in the gameplay and non-linearity in the narrative section. This time the gameplay will also have a non-linear character. Cyberpunk 2077 is in development for PS4, Xbox One, PC and possibly next-gen systems. At the moment, no release date has been announced. Perhaps we will know more at the next E3, where the highly anticipated title will star.
