Rumors have been circulating for some time about the development of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 for PlayStation 5, a hypothesis that is not too remote considering the excellent public and critical success of the first episode, released last September on PlayStation 4.
We still don’t know anything about the game (actually, not even the existence of the game has been confirmed), however, Game Rant launches speculation about the possible villain of the new Spider-Man game.
The clue comes from the second issue of the cartoon Spider-Man City at War, set in the same universe as the video game Insomniac. In this story, Spider-Man will have to deal with Swarm (Symbiotic Warfare Anthophila Restraining Model), an enemy of alien origin capable of controlling whole swarms of bees.
This character has already been mentioned by Insomniac in the past and it seems that the idea was to include it in Marvel’s Spider-Man for PlayStation 4, only to be cut for reasons that are not entirely clear. From here, the idea of rescuing Swarm as the main villain (or one of the villains) of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.
At the moment, we reiterate, it is in any case only speculation and theories, so we invite you to take what has been reported with the necessary precautions
