Blizzard, this year will not participate in the GamesCom 2019, the well-known video game fair in Cologne that will take place between 21 and 24 August.
The company says the decision was made to focus efforts on developing current and future projects.
” As part of our renewed commitment to keep the focus on development this year, for our current and future projects, we will not have our own booth at GamesCom 2019. “, Blizzard announces via the official website.
However, Blizzard has expressed its willingness to participate in future editions and to look forward to unveiling more details on the projects it is working on.
“The show is of prime importance to the European and global community and we will not have the opportunity to meet players in Cologne this year. You will be able to find the Blizzard merchandise in the GamesCom 2019 shop area and we look forward to return to the stage of the event in the future. We also look forward to giving you more details on the projects we are working on when the right time comes.“
In the previous editions of the Cologne event, the Irvine giant had presented thick new features for its top titles, such as animated shorts and new Overwatch maps.
In short, the absence of Blizzard at the GamesCom 2019 will be felt, but probably the November Blizzcon will be the ideal stage to present players with new projects in the pipeline. Has anyone said Diablo 4?
