As promised, on the evening of April 30th Activision and Treyarch officially kicked off Operation Specter Rising on PlayStation 4, a new season of content that brought with it many new features. The debut on Xbox One and PC is instead scheduled for May 6th.
The new operation, to begin with, introduced the new specialist Specter in the Multiplayer mode, which came directly from Black Ops 3. It is a silent assassin, lethal at short range thanks to its katana (activating the Shadow Blade ability the view goes to the third person increasing the field of view) and able to mask his movements with the Smoke Grenade. The news in the Multiplayer does not end here. On May 3rd the new Prop Hunt mode will debut, in which players will have to hide in the setting and avoid being caught by enemies, while Black Ops Pass owners can now play in three new maps: Masquerade, Artifact, and WMD. Soon the flag capture mode will also be inserted.
The Blackout map has undergone some important changes. The dam was destroyed and the water flooded the surrounding area giving shape to the new Wetworks area. Alcatraz, on the other hand, has been slightly modified to improve its gameplay. In Blackout, moreover, the new Bounty Hunter mode has been introduced (soon also Ground War will arrive) and several new characters have appeared, namely Uncle Frank (for Pass holders), Misty, Sergei, Sarah Hall, Blackjack, and David Mason.
In Zombies two new Gauntlets made their debut: Super Blood Wolf Moon in the episode Dead of the Night and Labs of Hercules in Ancient Evil. In addition, the rankings of friends in Gauntlet and the refueling functionality of the Classical Elixirs were introduced.
To find out in detail all the other (and countless) changes applied, we advise you to consult the detailed official changelog of the patch. The top of the news, instead, find the trailer of the new operation.
