Together with Madden NFL in North America, FIFA is undoubtedly the most representative title of the Electronic Arts lineup, especially in Europe, at least judging by the numbers recorded with the last two chapters of the series.
Electronic Arts have announced that FIFA 18 and FIFA 19 have cumulatively reached 45 million unique players during the 2019 fiscal year (ended March 31st) on PC, PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch, thus excluding the mobile versions. FIFA Ultimate Team games have increased by 15% on an annual basis, and both FIFA 18 and FIFA 19 have been the most sold video games in Europe in 2017 and 2018 respectively.
A resounding success, therefore, probably destined to continue also with the not yet announced FIFA 20, presumably arriving in September on all platforms. During the last meeting with shareholders, Anthem’s sales figures (below expectations) and the success of Apex Legends, with 50 million players in two weeks, also emerged.
