The German Ehre Team Is Champion of the European Smash Ball Team Cup 2019

Eleven of the European Super Smash Bros. Ultimate teams competed at the Beurs van Berlage in Amsterdam on 4 and 5 May to earn the title of champions of the European Smash Ball Team Cup 2019.

During the weekend, each of the teams in the race did their best, but it was the rigorous teamwork and the skillful moves of the German Ehre team and the French national champions Guezmer that brought them to the final where, in a highly clash competitive, the German team got the better. They will be the ones to represent Europe at the Ultimate World Championship 2019 3v3 which will be held in Los Angeles on June 8th.

The Guezmer Team presented itself to the tournament among the favorites, with Glutonny, while the German team rightly earned the title of a possible surprise during the two days of the tournament. The German team showed exceptional teamwork in 2v2 races, winning some overwhelming victories, without ever losing until the semifinal victory against the Scandinavian outsiders Popoff. In the frantic final there was a great deal of strategy from both teams, reaching the climax in the decisive Smashdown when Robin of the German Ehre team chose the Wii Fit Trainer character against Leon’s Toon Link from the Guezmer team. The Ehre team, recently formed around Light, won the victory in front of hundreds of fans at the Beurs van Berlage in Amsterdam.

“In the beginning, we were not the favorites, so winning makes us feel even better,” said the German player Light, whose Palutena won countless important KOs over the weekend. Regarding the potential victory at the upcoming World Championship, RobinGG – whose victory brought Germany to the title – has a message for other countries: “We have nothing to lose. If others believe that we are weaker, we can prove that this is not the case. ”

The German team not only won the European title but left the event with a special trophy, the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller custom Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and the t-shirts to wear when they represent Europe at the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate World Championship 2019 3v3 in Los Angeles on June 8th, challenging teams from North America, Japan and Australia / New Zealand for the chance to become the world champions.
