In the last few hours, sales data for Square Enix titles have been published, such as Shadow of the Tomb Raider and Kingdom Hearts 3, which in both cases fully met the expectations of the eastern publisher.
However, all that glitters is not gold and, despite the success of these series, there were also drops in the mobile sections, online multiplayer titles, and merchandise linked to various intellectual properties.
Instead, real records have been reached for the following series:
- Final Fantasy with 144 million units sold (2 million more than the second quarter of fiscal 2019)
- Dragon Quest with 78 million units sold (2 million more than in the first quarter of fiscal 2019)
- Tomb Raider with 74 million units sold (7 million more than the second quarter of fiscal 2019)
To these details is also added the closure of the Studio Istolia internal development team, which was working on Project Prelude Rune. The developer’s official website has been closed and the Twitter profile is no longer present on the social network, leaving fans very little hope.
Before leaving, we remind you that Square Enix will be at E3 2019 with a dedicated conference and on our pages you will find all the details on the date and time of the event.
