Nine years ago Microsoft and Remedy launched Alan Wake, the game celebrates its ninth anniversary at this time and for the occasion the Finnish studio (currently working on Control) has published a celebratory Tweet, thanking the players for being still so tied to this franchise.
The message was also answered by Cory Barlog of Sony Santa Monica, director of God of War on PlayStation 4, who writes in a message: ” Alan Wake’s birthday! I am a little more inclined to accept games that have a writer as the main protagonist, I love this title! Thanks to Sam Lake and the Remedy team for this fantastic experience. “
Appreciated by public and critics, Alan Wake, unfortunately, did not receive the commercial success he had hoped for and this has in fact affected the lack of production of the sequel: Alan Wake 2 was actually under development in 2010 but no publisher came forward to publish the game. Remedy subsequently continued working with Microsoft by publishing Quantum Break in 2015, the studio is now busy finishing work on Control, due out in late August on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
Alan Wake turns 9 years old today. ??
Thank you for loving our game, even after all this time! ❤️☕️

Happy Anniversary Alan Wake. ?
I think I’m a bit predisposed to at least liking games with writers as the main protagonist, but I absolutely LOVED this game!!!
