A Noclip Documentary Sheds Light on the Closure of Telltale Games

In the past few hours, NoClip has published a documentary entitled The Human Stories Behind the Games, dedicated to the closure of Telltale Games, which took place in September last year after a period of the financial crisis that brought the company to its knees.

The documentary focuses on the phases that led to the closure of the company thanks to the testimonies of former employees such as Kent Muddle, Paul Mastroianni, Emily Grace Buck and Caroline Liddick, who openly talk about the problems between management and developers, as well as the long periods of crunch time (up to 100 hours a week), ending with the numerous projects managed simultaneously, a factor that has caused organizational and economic problems in the long run that have led to a decline in the quality of individual games.

The former employees also report that they had no warning or communication of the difficult situation in Telltale until a few hours before the company closed when they went to the office to find the doors barred, from there to little official communication from the management. Many Telltale employees seem to have found new jobs in the San Francisco studios while others have been forced to relocate with obvious personal and work problems.
