Ubisoft announces that Team Empire, the 1st team ranked for the European region, won the title of Season 9 Champion of the Rainbow Six Pro League in the final on Sunday 19 May in Milan, which concluded a truly epic eSport season for Rainbow Six Siege.
Without the favorite of the Pro League, G2 esports, the quarter-finals of Season 9 of the Rainbow Six Pro League offered a new and exciting experience for the eight qualified teams that met in Milan last weekend. Although they all proved their worth, the first day of the competition ended with a score of 2-0 in each quarter, ending, for the first time in the history of the Pro League, with a team qualified for the semi-finals for each of the four regions, Europe, North America, Latin America and Asia-Pacific.
In the first semi-final, the Invitational finalist, Team Empire, demonstrated his superiority against Fnatic, despite the conquest of the second map by the Australian team, closing the game with a net success (7-4 / 3-7 / 7 -0). With this victory, the Russian team took a step forward towards the title of Pro League Champion, where he met Evil Geniuses, who qualified in the second semifinal, after an intense push and pull against the expected team of the LATAM area, FaZe Clan (7-5 / 8-6). Despite a tough struggle by the North Americans and a particularly disputed second map, JoyStiCK and Team Empire’s companions won the game (Bank 7-4 / Oregon 6-8 / Clubhouse 7-3) and the final of the Rainbow Season 9 Six Pro League.
After his defeat against G2 esports during the grand final of the Sixteen Invitational 2019, Team Empire finally won the title of champion of the Season 9 of the Rainbow Six Pro League, which ended with a great success with the public and an average audience on the Twitch channel Italian up 149% compared to the previous finals in Rio de Janeiro.
