With a brief note released at the last meeting with shareholders, THQ Nordic confirmed that Dead Island 2 was not canceled and that the game is still under development, although no information was provided regarding the launch window.
Announced at E3 2014, Dead Island 2 disappeared from the radar the success year, changing developer and changing hands from Techland ( working on Dying Light and Dying Light 2 ) to Sumo Digital, a British studio specialized in commissioned work, among the whose most recent titles include Crackdown 3 and Team Sonic Racing. Last summer the publisher had already confirmed the progress of the work on the game, but since then there has been no other news about it and information on the project is still absent.
It is not excluded that Dead Island 2 can make its appearance at the next E3 even if THQ Nordic did not want to spread comments about it, we look forward to learning more about the target platforms.. that the game has become a project Next -Gen for PS5 and Xbox Scarlett? We will find out in the future.
