Mortal Kombat 11 at the Top of Switch Sales Marks a Novelty After 14 Years

Mortal Kombat 11 achieved excellent results: the new chapter of the NetherRealm fighting game was immediately established as one of the most successful of the famous saga, and sales figures confirmed the validity of the videogame.

Last April, in fact, Mortal Kombat 11 was the best-selling game in the United States, and was in the lead in virtually every ranking, including that of the best-selling titles on Nintendo Switch, marking a novelty for the industry, which did not occur for about 14 years.

The last time a game ranked for a mature audience was at the top of a Nintendo console’s sales charts, it was in February 2005, when it was Resident Evil 4 that reached the top of the chart, on Nintendo GameCube.

It is already a rarity that it is a third party game to earn the top spot on a Nintendo console as the last one was the excellent Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle, by Ubisoft Milan, so finding a game with strong colors like those of Mortal Kombat 11 in your head is truly a rarity, as confirmed by the numbers, but it is a pleasure to see that it is the NetherRealm title that has succeeded, given that it is a game really of all respect.
