Despite the fact that they are already prepared for the eventual failure of Storm dives, the Housemarque boys are at work on a new triple-A project that is profoundly different from the previous works of the studio. During the Reboot Develop, CEO Ilari Kuittinen revealed the first details in this regard.
First of all, it is a completely original IP. The gameplay will play a very important role, as well as being in full Housemarque style (there will also be the explosive visual effects we are used to), but for the first time ever the Finnish developers are also working on the narrative sector. This is a new experience (born of the firm’s desire to move away from the arcade genre ), which required the recruitment of new professionals who were previously absent, such as a narrative designer and a writer. The pre-production started two years ago, while the actual development is keeping 60 employees busy, a quantity of people 2-3 times higher than that assigned to previous jobs.
The actual presentation should take place next year, so it is very likely that the project is intended for next-generation platforms, especially PlayStation 5. This speculation was fueled by the recent Shuhei Yoshida visit to HHousemarque.Among other things, in the group photo taken during the meeting, on the right you can see Harry Krueger, director of the new title Tripla A. The Finnish studio has always been on excellent terms with Sony, as evidenced by the multiple projects developed exclusively . The PS4 launch titles included the excellent Resogun. Please note, in any case, that at the moment there is no official information on the target platforms of the new game.
