A little more than ten days ago, the world knew PlayDate, a very special new yellow console with a crank, which promised to give a new look to the world of videogames, with a particular game distribution system.
PlayDate winks at the Game Boy and is equipped with a crank that will also be functional to the gameplay of some games (we have seen it for example in Crankin’s Time Travel Adventure), and will be sold with a sort of integrated subscription service. In fact, 12 games have been announced, which will be automatically downloaded, one per week for the first season.
The Panic console, the publishers of an indie classic like Firewatch, had, therefore, intrigued everyone, both for the choice of using a black and white screen, both for the retro shape, and precisely for the bizarre crank supplied, but so far we had practically never seen it in action.
The YouTube channel drikin thought about it, which finally showed the first video of the console. In the video, you can see a PlayDate prototype on which Crankin’s Time Adventure runs, thanks to which we can take a more detailed and realistic look at the features of the console listed above.
What do you think of the movie? Does it appeal to you like a product?
