Square Enix Japan announced Dragon Quest Walk for iOS and Android, developed by Colopl and arriving in Japan in 2019, preceded by a Closed Beta for 20,000 players starting next June 11th.
Dragon Quest Walk is defined as a “location services-based game” in the style of Pokemon GO, adventurers will then face various monsters in the real world, using Augmented Reality. Unfortunately, at the moment there are no other details and even the official website appears stingy with information about the game.
During the Walk presentation event, the executive producer of the series Yuu Miyake also hinted at the existence of Dragon Quest XII, without however officially announcing the project: ” We have something in mind, me and Yuji Horii started thinking how to connect the next episode in the series, I think it’s too early to announce it, but I can tell you that we’re starting to think about Dragon Quest XII. “
Again, difficult to find out more, as made clear by Miyake, the times are not yet ripe for announcing the new Dragon Quest, however, the series will not stop with the eleventh chapter, that’s for sure.
