Rumours that would like a new Splinter Cell in progress have been following one another for months now, with the curiosity of fans often prompted also by some intriguing Instagram posts by our local Luca Ward and by mysterious twitters by Julian Gerighty, creative director at Ubisoft.
To rekindle the hopes of gamers linked to the adventures of Sam Fisher now comes a strange sighting in the lists of GameStop, reported by the now known Twitter user “Wario64”. The latter in fact report the appearance in the retailer’s database of reproduction of the character’s viewer, described as an “E3 Collectible” – “Collectable E3”. The gadget could be pre-ordered at a price of $39.99, with the date of publication indicated corresponding to November 1, 2019. The object, however, continues Wario64, was quickly removed from the GameStop price lists, on which it is no longer traceable.
All these elements immediately gave new life to a further series of rumours related to a possible reappearance of Sam Fisher just in time for E3 2019. To find out once and for all if something concrete is behind these rumours, we just have to wait for the Ubisoft E3 2019 conference. The wait will not be long: the appointment is set for next Monday 10 June.
