Checkmate: Riot Games Wants Its Own Auto Chess, Here Is Teamfight Tactics

Riot Games announced Teamfight Tactics, a mod that uses the League of Legends engine to create its own version of the true 2019 phenomenon: Dota 2 Auto Chess. Riot Games is planning to give its fans, therefore, their own interpretation of the Auto Chess genre.

The title will include the champions, items and abilities already present in League of Legends, which means that League players will be able to engage in this “new” title and feel at home.

” We believe in the great commitments we make to our players and fans, from updating the game every two weeks to creating seasonal events and new game modes,” said Richard Henkel, product manager for Teamfight Tactics.

” Players have expressed enormous interest in the genre and we hope that League of Legends fans will be excited to see the art, style and gameplay of this new mode .”

The announcement comes less than a month after Valve herself decided to make her own version of Auto-Chess, separate from the original creators Drodo Studios. The latter are in fact engaged in making the mobile version of the mod.

The potential to create an earthquake in the mobile market is everything: the title (we are always talking about Auto Chess), a few days after its release, has had over 8 million downloads and has contributed to strengthening the number of active players in DOTA 2 in recent months.

Imagine what Auto Chess can do when it can be played by millions of players without any barriers. Not only: think of the potential in terms of competitive gaming.

We’ll see if Riot Games manages to make up for the lost time and, above all, be up to it.
