Final Fantasy 7 Remake: First Details on the New Combat System

The Square Enix conference at E3 2019 debuted immediately showing a new trailer for Final Fantasy 7 Remake, one of the most anticipated games from the gaming community.

During the appointment, the theme of the new combat system that will be introduced by the remake was also addressed. Several elements highlighted during the presentation. Among the main ones we can mention renewal of the ATB ( Active Time Battle ) system, flanked by the introduction of a new “Tactical Mode”. The latter, specifically, allows the player to slow down the flow of time and take advantage of this situation to access the command menu and select different possible actions. During the gameplay video shown directly on the stage of the Square Enix event, a first boss-fight was also shown, which saw Cloud and Barrett facing the Scorpion Sentinel. During the fight, the player was able to move from controlling one to the other. What do you think of these first innovations?

We remind you that on the occasion of E3 2019, two special editions of Final Fantasy 7 Remake were also unveiled: a “Deluxe Edition” and a “First Class Edtion”. Square Enix has also confirmed that the first episode of this ambitious revisitation of the great and beloved classic video game will debut on March 3, 2020, on Playstation 4.
