There is some confusion around Shenmue 3, which remains one of the most anticipated titles from the gamer community. As we told you yesterday, Shenmue 3 is exclusive to Epic Games Store, but Deep Silver has just specified that this is an exclusive time slot, at the end of which the game will also land on Steam.
The news comes after the game has been targeted by the criticism of players not happy with the choice to distribute the game only on the Epic platform. Shenmue 3 was funded on Kickstarter, and the Steam logos were on the promotional material, there was the talk of keys for Steam, and on the Valve platform, there was also a product page, updated for a long time.
Some backers have therefore hurled themselves against the publisher, since there are those who spent up to 300 dollars to support the game, choosing the Steam Key as a way to receive the game, so don’t let the game out on the Valve platform would actually know about mockery.
Deep Silver, who yesterday specified that there will be no reimbursement for the Shenmue 3 pre-order, has therefore preferred to correct the shot, updating the FAQ and writing that Shenmue 3 will therefore also arrive on Steam. When, for the moment, we are not allowed to know, but generally the period of temporal exclusivity for Epic Games Store lasts about a year, so it is reasonable to assume that Shenmue 3 could arrive on Steam in November 2020.
