Between the announcement of Zelda Breath of the Wild 2 and the first Animal Crossing New Horizons gameplay trailer, there was no room for Bayonetta 3 on Nintendo E3 2019 and this annoyed several fans of the Platinum Games witch.
Intercepted by VideoGamesChronicle journalists to understand the reason for this absence, Atsushi Inaba of Platinum Games explained why his development team decided, in concert with Nintendo’s top management, not to reveal further news on Bayonetta 3 in the E3 Direct : “No, development is progressing pretty well, video games are not usually done in a year or two … it takes a while, but everything is going well and I know a lot of people are asking . “
As for the absence of Bayonetta 3 from E3 2019, Inaba clarified that “choosing to concentrate all announcements on E3 is not the smartest marketing strategy, so just because we didn’t show it at E3 doesn’t mean that we are having problems in development. On the contrary, it will be a very high-quality title on which we are pouring all our energies”.
The assurances of the Platinum Games boss make the possibility of a future Nintendo Direct dedicated exclusively to Bayonetta 3 more and more likely, with unpublished gameplay scenes accompanied, why not, by the announcement of the exclusive Nintendo Switch release date.
