On the occasion of E3 2019, the Finnish developers of Next Games confirm that they are working on Stranger Things Mobile, a free to play the role-playing game for iOS and Android systems dedicated to the very famous Netflix series and its young protagonists.
Created by an expert team of authors, programmers and designers from Rovio, Supercell and Disney, the new free video game for smartphones from Stranger Things will take the form of a role-playing puzzle that will re-imagine the universe of the Netflix series in the style of an 80s comic.
Similar to Pokemon GO and the recently announced Minecraft Earth, Stranger Things will use a gameplay mechanic based on Google Maps integration to show us where our dimension plane intertwines with the Upside-down.
The project, according to the Finnish authors headed by Teemu Huuhtanen, will boast a solid cooperative component and will allow the old and new fans of the series to fight over-dimensional beings before the later takeover. The launch of Stranger Things Mobile as a free to play title that can be downloaded free of charge is scheduled for an unspecified period of 2020 on iOS and Android mobile systems.
