There is an air of change at the top of Nintendo. Four important personalities of the firm who have contributed in recent years to shape the most important IPs of the great N have been rewarded with a promotion.
Eiji Aonuma, legendary director, and producer of the series The Legend of Zelda will now also hold the position of Deputy General Manager. The same position was also assigned to Hisashi Nogami, who in recent times has served as producer for the Splatoon series. Aya Kyogoku, the producer, director, and supervisor of numerous chapters of the Animal Crossing series, has become Manager of Production Group No. 5, which in addition to Animal Crossing is also in charge of Splatoon. Yoshiko Ikebata, the supervisor of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and Luigi’s Mansion 3, has now joined Production Group No. 6 as a developer, where he will work on the Luigi’s Mansion and Metroid Prime series.
It is undoubtedly a very important moment in the working life of all four, who have been rewarded for the excellent work done in the past. Nintendo, meanwhile, is preparing for the last part of the year of the highest level. According to NPD, the Kyoto house will eventually become the most successful publisher of 2019 in the US. This result will be largely contributed by Pokémon Spada and Scudo, a pair of titles coming on November 15th.
