Minecraft Has Passed Fortnite in Terms of Popularity on Google Trends

In February 2018, in the period of its full explosion, Fortnite managed to overcome Minecraft in terms of popularity on Google Trends. The title of Mojang, for its part, was in a phase of decline that had been going on since 2016. In this period, instead, it seems that the balances are once again reversing.

In fact, Fortnite is currently in a downward phase, unlike Minecraft, which is growing again. As a result, in June 2019, the sandbox passed the battle royale for the first time in a year and a half. Minecraft has a Trend Score on a worldwide basis equal to 41/100, while Fortnite has stopped at a value of 35/100. For the record, in the United States, the balances have not yet been reversed: the game of Epic Games is still ahead for 44 to 43, but judging by the trend of recent months it is only a matter of time before the reversal takes place Also here.

The Google Trends portal, we recall, takes into account the number of searches made on the Mountain Views engine. Moreover, even if overtaking has occurred, to get a more complete picture of the current situation and tastes of gamers we will necessarily have to wait for evolution in the coming months. Finally, it is interesting to note that Fortnite has never managed to match the best results achieved by Minecraft during its almost ten-year history.
