The release date of Harry Potter: Wizards Unite is undoubtedly the most interesting announcement made by Niantic in the past few hours, but it is not the only one. The software house has, in fact, unveiled a novelty for the players of its other two apps, such as Pokémon GO and Ingress.
The software house will, in fact, interrupt the support for the two games on devices that mount Android KitKat. To continue using the two apps, you will need to upgrade your operating system to at least Android 5 or a later version.
Niantic announced it in a tweet on its official account: “For Android users: Ingress and Pokémon GO will end support for Android 4 KitKat after July 1, 2019. We recommend upgrading your operating systems to Android 5 or above to continue accessing Ingress and Pokémon GO. For more information, see the in-game help screen. “
The change will, therefore, be effective starting from next July 2nd. Meanwhile, Niantic denounced some pirated apps of Pokémon GO, using the hard fist against hackers.
Android users: Ingress and Pokémon GO will be discontinuing support for Android 4 KitKat after July 1, 2019. We encourage you to update their operating systems to Android 5 or above for uninterrupted access to Ingress and Pokémon GO. See in-game help for more information.
