Watch Dogs Legion: Ubisoft Promises 20 Different Versions of Scripts

Watch Dogs: Legion Will Support Directx Raytracing on PC, Thanks to NVIDIA

Interviewed by the editors of the EDGE magazine about the history of Watch Dogs Legion, the Creative Director of Ubisoft Toronto, Clint Hocking, explained that the title plot will have a really complex and multifaceted script (but also a blatant one, like the killer granny seen in E3 2019 trailer).

Starting from the assumption that in Watch Dogs Legion there will not be a single protagonist but a whole host of hackers ready to do anything to restore peace among the inhabitants of an anarchic London of the future immersed in a not particularly rosy post-Brexit context , Hocking explains that “there will be no pre-set characters that you will seem to pull out of a box, and certainly the people you recruit will not be just a supporting cast. There are twenty different versions of the script in Legion, not just the character jokes. We’re talking about a script that will produce different personalities, voices, and recitations.

As for the development tools developed by the Ubisoft subsidiaries that will deal with this ambitious and, in some ways, a revolutionary free roaming project , Hocking reports that “we use technology to alter all the voices so that even if you happen to recruit two characters with the same actor and the same personality, when they talk to each other you will not understand that they are managed by the same actor because we modulate the voices differently. We also decided to use photogrammetry to record dozens of faces with 3D scans, faces that later have been combined using particularly innovative animation techniques that will help us to realize literally thousands of faces and characters with unique features “.

The despotic London granny and her Watch Dogs Legion hacker friends will return to action on March 6th, 2020, on the occasion of the release of the Ubisoft title on PC, PS4, Xbox One and Google Stadia.
