Zelda Breath of the Wild 2 for Switch: The Community Dreams of Monsters and Aliens!

Eiji Aonuma Talks About the Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild 2, Released in 2021?

he reveals trailer for Zelda Breath of the Wild 2 is fueling the fantasies of the iconic Nintendo series fans. Zelda fans who populate the ResetEra forum, for example, believe that behind the dark tones of the BOTW 2 announcement video, Nintendo’s willingness to add monsters and aliens is hidden.

The Resetera community invites the lovers of the saga of The Legend of Zelda to carefully observe the announcement video of the follow-up to Breath of the Wild to link it to the BOTW concepts shown by the same Nintendo developers during the 2017 Game Developers Conference.

Among the sketches admired during the GDC 17 it was possible to admire some concepts, later abandoned by the team directed by Aonuma, of a UFO intent on unleashing an alien invasion in full Independence Day style on Hyrule and of gigantic monsters that seemed to come from a dimension inspired by the horror stories of HP Lovecraft .

The disturbing music and dark tones of the BOTW 2 presentation video, therefore, could be an indication of the presence of Lovecraftian-like creatures and aliens: the latter, although they seem completely unrelated to the fantasy narrative of the Legend of Zelda series, actually they have already made a fleeting appearance in the saga, more precisely in the Ranch Romans of Majora’s Mask .

Eiji Aonuma himself, on the other hand, during E3 2019 stated that the Breath of the Wild 2 project was born to enclose and give asylum to all (almost) the ideas that the Japanese authors were not able to include in the first chapter and in its expansions. And you, what do you think of the theory according to which in BOTW 2 we will have to face hordes of monsters and aliens?
