Although Tales of Arise was born as a project capable of innovating the JRPG series of Bandai Namco Entertainment, the title officially unveiled at E3 2019, and which has been able to positively surprise many players, it will retain some of the founding elements on which the franchise historically is based.
During a recent interview, producer Yusuke Tomizawa confirmed that progress within Tales of Arise will work exactly like any other traditional JRPG. The players, in fact, will move inside small and big cities and will face different dungeons populated by fearsome opponents. The structure of the game world will not be properly open world, but will offer several open and freely explorable areas, like other congeners already – as well as other chapters of the Tales of series – already do.
Another element that will be directly inherited from the past, will be encounter-based fights, to which titles like Tales of Zestiria and Tales of Berseria have already accustomed us in the past years.
Tales of Arise will be released in 2020 on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The characters of the new chapter of the series have been presented in a new trailer extended to them dedicated.
