Konami’s European brand manager, Lennart Bobzien, intervenes on the GameSpot pages to answer one of the most frequently asked questions among Pro Evolution Soccer fans: why will the new chapter of the football simulator be called eFootball PES 2020?
“From now on, the full name of the game will be eFootball: PES”, explains Bobzien adding immediately after that “for this year we announced eFootball PES 2020. We want to focus more on eSports in the future. Recently we have already shown that we want to take this path by organizing competitive tournaments for pro players and clubs such as the PES League and eFootball Pro. Going forward, we will push even more on this aspect and organize further eSport tournaments”.
To further underline the concept , the head of the Japanese development company specifies that “we simply thought that by including ‘eFootball’ in the product name, we would have declared to the world and our fan community, but also to a wider audience, that the eSports will play an increasingly important role from now on “ .
The launch of eFootball PES 2020 is scheduled for September 10th on PC, PS4 and Xbox One: the same platforms will be able to download the demo of PES 2020 with effect from 30 July.
