After announcing the launch date of the Gears 5 Tech Test, which will be accessible from July 17th for all Xbox Game Pass subscribers, the guys from The Coalition presented the renewed Escalation, a game mode that requires individual skills, play team and lots of strategies.
In Escalation games, consisting of 13 rounds, two teams of five members compete for the control of three circles scattered on the map. Two are located near the spawn points and one exactly in the center, at a fair distance. The control of the points guarantees the obtaining of points, but if one of the teams succeeds in winning them simultaneously all of them, automatically wins the round.
In Gears 5 the basic rules will remain unchanged, but they will be enriched by an important innovation, namely a system of lives. Each player will have a maximum of 5 lives at the start of each game. It will be possible to regain one at the end of each round, and five in the middle of the match. However, if all players on a team end all lives, the game will end immediately, regardless of the number of rounds reached.
Escalation will be one of the three Versus modes that will be offered in the Gears 5 Tech Test. The other two will be Arcade, a new frenetic experience and easy to approach, and King of the Hill, who needs no introduction. Gears 5 is expected on PC Windows 10, Xbox One and Xbox One X for September 10th.
