We say it right away: in this news, you will find a couple of spoilers (not decisive for the purposes of the plot) on Spider-Man: Far From Home, the new film of the by now immense Marvel Cinematic Universe. The release in Italian cinemas is scheduled for July 10, so if you don’t want to spoil the surprise, we advise you to stop reading.
Without the necessary premise, we can continue. In the new film that sees Tom Holland as the friendly neighborhood spider, there are two clear tributes to Marvel’s Spider-Man from Insomniac Games , the most sold PS4 exclusive ever in the United States of America. First of all, the now famous white spider video game costume appears in the list of designs that Peter consults at some point in the film. As if that were not enough, as he whirls through the skyscrapers just before the end credits, the wall climber pulls out his cell phone and takes a selfie while he makes the peace gesture, clearly mimicking the pose that his digital counterpart exhibits in many promotional images, such as the one you can see on top of the news.
The references are so obvious that they sparked the applause of the same guys from Insomniac Games, who went to assist in a group screening of the film. Among other things, the reverse has also happened in recent days, with Marvel’s Spider-Man paying tribute to Far From Home by adding two free costumes inspired by the film.
