Warframe: Battles Between Ships in Empyrean and New Intro Directed by the Director of Uncharted

As promised, during the TennoCon held yesterday in London, Ontario (Canada), Digital Extremes unveiled a myriad of new content coming to Warframe, a free-to-play third-person shooter available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch.

To begin with, the Empyrean mode was shown in action, previously known by the code name Railjack, which will allow a team of four players to travel in space on board a ship with the aim of exploring the Origin System, completing missions and fight against boats controlled by other users. It will also be possible to infiltrate enemy ships using the Archwings flight system, with the aim of sabotaging and stealing them. The Squad Link feature will allow you to send a message to active players on Fortuna or in the Eidolon plains to invite them to join the missions. The ship can be upgraded and customized at the Drydock, while during the voyages it will be necessary to face various unforeseen events, such as the Void Storm visible in the TennoCon demo, which has disabled all the equipment of the means of transport.

The developers then anticipated the arrival of the Kingpin System: they did not provide more precise information, postponing the appointment later, but they hinted that it will have to do with enemies able to adapt dynamically to the lethality of the Tenno. More than six years after its launch, Warframe has also received a new six-minute film introduction and directed by Dan Trachtenberg, director of Black Mirror, 10 Cloverfield Lane and of the future Uncharted movie.

The news is not yet complete. At the end of the year, on the occasion of the festivities, the new narrative quest entitled The New War, which will focus on the attack of the Sentients, an artificial race originating from the Tau system will debut. Soon two new Warframe, Gauss and Grendel, and a new open world area called The Duviri Paradox will be added.

On all platforms, the Wukong Prime Access package was launched, including the crossbow Zhuge Prime and the nunchaku Ninkondi Prime, and the Nightwave: Series 2, which offers new epic rewards:

  • Emissary Operator Collection (Tier 30)
  • Chitoid Sentinel Bundle (Tier 29)
  • Protosomid Shoulder Guard (Tier 28)
  • Umbra Form (Tier 26)
  • Spore Ephemera (Tier 19)

Attached to this news you will find numerous videos taken from the presentation that summarize the many new features coming to Warframe. Good vision!
