A Mod Easily Removes the Interface from AC Odyssey and Many Other PC Games

Assassin's Creed Odyssey

In the modern videogame industry, especially in the triple-A games on PC, it has become the practice to add a system that allows removing the interface: in many cases, however, it is rather complicated to remove all the elements on the HUD screen. The modder The Manager has the solution to the problem!

Over the past year, the amateur developer has spent his free time planning and distributing for free through the NexusMods pages, the tools that allow users to remove the interface from many video games on PC.

Once the specific mod for your favourite PC title is installed, the tool in question allows us to enable and disable the HUD with the push of a button. As we can easily guess, this feature turns out to be particularly convenient for those who, like the streamer and content creators on YouTube, want to “free” the game scene from any element of the interface to make machinima videos or, especially on Twitch, emphasize to their own interactive banners.

The list of titles that already appear to be compatible with TheJanitor tool is rather long and includes blockbusters such as Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, Far Cry 5, Titanfall 2, Mad Max or Call of Duty WWII:

  • Ryse: Son of Rome
  • Assassin’s Creed Unity
  • Batman: Arkham Origins
  • Assassin’s Creed Odyssey
  • Call of Duty WWII
  • X-Men Origins: Wolverine
  • Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare
  • Splinter Cell Conviction
  • Titanfall 2
  • Hitman Absolution
  • Red Faction: Armageddon
  • Deus Ex: Human Revolution
  • Mass Effect Andromeda
  • Middle Earth: The Shadow of Mordor
  • Medal of Honor
  • Mad Max
  • Assassin’s Creed Origins
  • Red Faction Guerrilla
  • Watch Dogs
  • Alien Isolation
  • Call of Duty Black Ops 2
  • Far Cry 5
  • Batman: Arkham Knight
  • Far Cry 3
  • Batman: Arkham City

Modder TheJanitor also promises to expand the “virtual catalogue” of video games compatible with its tools as soon as possible, publishing everything for free on NexusMods. What do you think of these mods “cancel-HUD”? Let us know with a comment after reading Claudio Cugliandro’s special on customization and impact on the experience in modern video games.
