Although anticipated by some pre E3 2019 rumors, the announcement of Final Fantasy VIII Remastered during the Los Angeles fair nevertheless sparked the joy of many players.
Fans linked to the final fantasy eighth of Square Enix have in fact been thrilled by the idea of being able to get back to putting their hands on this iconic JRPG on current generation platforms. On the decision to start this production, Yoshinori Kitase was interviewed by the famous Japanese magazine Famitsu. The intervention, recently translated by the Nintendo Everything portal, therefore offers some interesting points in this regard.
Kitase, in particular, pointed out that “Even if current hardware continues to progress, we still want fans of the series to be able to play the original titles. ” This desire, he explains, has determined the desire to announce the portals of Final Fantasy VII, VIII, and IX. However, he adds, “while Final Fantasy VII and IX managed to be available for purchase rather smoothly, with these improved capabilities of recent hardware, we decided to give Final Fantasy VIII a great graphics improvement”. For example, tests were required concerning the quality of the models and the movements of the models and, concludes Kitase,“[…] I think we will supply the product with the highest quality we can”.
