After being able to bring Keanu Reeves in Cyberpunk 2077 entrusting him with the delicate role of Johnny Silverhand, the guys from CD Projekt RED dream of enriching the narrative universe of their blockbuster sci-fi involving no less than Meryl Streep, one of the greatest Hollywood stars.
To feed this forbidden dream is Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz: from the columns of GAME.co.uk, the Quest Director of CD Projekt in charge of shaping the missions of the main campaign and the narrative dynamics of the open-world experience tried to answer the question of whether want or not to accept a new actor in the cast of Cyberpunk 2077stating that “this is really a difficult question. Well, there are so many actors that I love and would like in the game … here, I love Meryl Streep, for example!”.
The author of CD Projekt RED also reports that he already has in mind the perfect role to entrust to the legendary American performer: “I loved The Devil Wears Prada, it would be really nice to have her as one of the characters in the game. He could be a president at the head of one of the corporations of the game. I can already imagine it!”.
As the editorial staff of GAME rightly points out, Tomaszkiewicz’s dream is destined to remain so, both because of the objective distance between Meryl Streel herself and the videogame industry (she has never appeared in any video game) that, above all, for purely questions economic and “logistic” related to the advanced stage of development of Cyberpunk 2077. The stringent marketing times, moreover, would further complicate the creation of motion capture sessions, both for Streep and for other Hollywood actors. At this point, before leaving any further comments to you, we remind you that Cyberpunk 2077 is scheduled for release on April 16th 2020 on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
