Gears 5: The Development Team AIMS to Export, a Close Partnership With PGL

Gears 5 ESPORT

The developer of the Gears of War series, The Coalition, will work with the tournament organizer PGL to start the 2019-20 export season for Gears 5.

The export of Gears 5 will present a lot of initiatives this year: a Pro League, amateur tournaments, international Major- style championships and World Championships that will end the competitive season.

The 2019-20 season will begin in September to coincide with the release of the title. The best North American, Central American and European teams can qualify for the Gears 5 Pro League online. Teams that are not members of the Pro League will be able to participate in weekly online tournaments to earn rewards and climb the ladder and gain their place in the sun.

Gears 5 will present the South American and Asia-Pacific regions for international competitions for the first time and the PGL organizer will cover travel costs. However, these regions do not seem to have any slots in the Pro League. The 2019-20 season will include three majors ahead of The Coalition’s TPS World Championship.

Despite what we are used to here in Europe, Gears of War 4 was an extremely popular export title, especially in the Americas. OpTic Gaming is currently the (now ex) richest team in the circuit, with more than $ 1.1 million won.

Gears 5 will be released on September 10th for Xbox One and PC but, meanwhile, events have already started. The ELEAGUE Gears Summer Series Invitational has seen the participation of eight of the best teams of Gears of War, while the success docu-series or ” Gears Summer Series: The Bondsyals of Brotherhood ” dedicated to behind the scenes of the great export events of Gears continues of War.
