NetEase Continues to Invest in the West: Acquired a Stake in Behavior Interactive

Dead by Daylight Arrives on Nintendo Switch on September 24th

The Chinese giant NetEase continues its investments in the West: after acquiring minority stakes in Bungie and Quantic Dream in recent months, the Asian company has now come into possession of a share of Behavior Interactive.

For years the Canadian studio has developed tie-ins and minor productions, also helping to develop AAA productions such as Middle-earth The Shadow of Mordor, Halo Wars Definitive Edition, Warhammer 40,000 Eternal Crusade and Fallout Shelter, before launching Dead by Daylight on behalf of Starbreeze Studios, the team’s first real success.

The company has already collaborated with NetEase on Identity V, a multiplayer game for mobile platforms that are currently confined to the Asian market. At the moment no other joint projects have been announced between the two parties but it is likely that the Chinese company wants to continue to invest further in the Canadian group.
