Today, Ubisoft has released the financial results for the first quarter of the current fiscal year 2019/2020. During the usual meeting with shareholders, it emerged that the PC has become the most profitable platform for the French house, even more than the PlayStation 4.
In any case, the executives also had the opportunity to talk about other things, in particular, the sales forecasts for the company’s future titles, including Watch Dogs Legion. Regarding the latter, the Chief Financial Officer Frédérick Duguet showed himself to be quite optimistic about his success, especially because it will not be released in the same period as Cyberpunk 2077. “The fact that it will not be released in the same quarter as Cyberpunk 2077 is good news”, He admitted. In fact, Watch Dogs Legion will arrive on the shelves on March 6th 2020, ie during the last quarter of the current fiscal year. Cyberpunk 2077 will see the light instead on April 16th 2020, at the beginning of the following fiscal year, the 2020/2021. The lesser competition could, therefore, help Ubisoft to close the annual accounts in the best possible way. Difficult to accurately predict the sales results of the two titles in question, but we understand the feeling of relief of the French company: Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the most anticipated games ever by the gamer community, and we are sure that it will not be slow to take off in the rankings.
Regarding Watch Dogs Legion, Ubisoft is convinced that it has organized a reveal with counter-eyes at E3 2019 and that it has made a great impression on the player’s thanks to its innovative gameplay, putting the franchise in the spotlight.
