Ubisoft is clearly going through a more than the positive financial moment: the French company, in addition to having significantly increased revenues from the PC market, launched Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 last March, which proved to be the best-selling game in the first half of 2019.
Two other names that have continued to support the company even beyond the initial sales expectations were Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, the most recent chapter in the series that has definitively embraced the action-RPG genre, and Rainbow Six Siege which, in spite of a warm welcome at launch, it has never stopped evolving to become one of the most played online shooters ever.
To confirm it was the same Ubisoft, which in the financial report for the first quarter of the fiscal year 2019-2020 declares to have denoted constant sales and an ever-increasing daily involvement with Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, which thus manages to exceed Assassin’s Creed by different lengths Origins, already a great success in terms of sales.
Similar to the talk about Rainbow Six Siege, now established as “one of the 10 most sold games in the last 5 years”, thanks to an engagement on the part of the community “growing year after year”.
As for the future of the two franchises, the next Assassin’s Creed will be patiently revealed, which according to rumors should take us to the Nordic lands and which we will probably see on PS5 and Xbox Scarlett, as well as the arrival in 2020 of Rainbow Six Quarantine, which unlike Siege will focus on a cooperative PvE experience.
