At the Comic-Con in San Diego 2019, NPD analyst Mat Piscatella held a panel during which he announced that Marvel’s Spider-Man, the latest Insomniac Games effort available exclusively on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 4 Pro, is the best selling superhero video game ever.
This is an incredible milestone for the exclusive Sony, as, to achieve a similar result, it has passed titles such as Batman Arkham City, Batman Arkham Asylum, Injustice 2and the numerous LEGO titles based on Marvel superheroes and DC Comics. However, what is most surprising is that he has surpassed every single episode of the series based on the Dark Knight by Rocksteady, one of the most popular to date. The only title that has not been taken into consideration in the long American ranking (which takes into account physical and digital sales) published by Piscatella is Marvel the Great Alliance 3: The Black Order, to be released today, 19 July 2019, exclusively on Nintendo Switch.
At this point, the only title that could oust the climbing wall is the much talked about new Rocksteady title set in the DC Comics universe, released on PS5 and Xbox Scarlett and whose protagonists could be the members of the Justice League.
We remind you that in the last few hours a bizarre Spider-Man PS4 glitch has been discovered that allows you to play in play one of the most iconic scenes among those present in Spider-Man Into the Spider-Verse.
