PS4: Sent the First 7.0 Beta Firmware Codes with New Party Features and More

More than a month after the opening of the registrations, Sony has started to send the selected players the codes to test the beta version of the Firmware 7.0 of PS4 and PS4 Pro, which introduces a series of important improvements to the Party functionality. To signal it to us was our affectionate reader, Alessandro “passerotto1975” Dezza.

As already mentioned in recent weeks, the new system upgrade enhances the Party functionality, expanding the maximum number of voice chat participants from 8 to 16. In addition, it improves the sound quality and network stability. Sony also claims to have improved the procedure for downloading and installing the firmware: this means that in the future the PS4 will not always need to restart after each update.

The codes sent can be redeemed on as many as 20 different accounts, therefore the lucky ones who have received one are only free to pass it to their friends. Sharing, among other things, is strongly encouraged, as players who install Firmware 7.0 Beta will not be able to share a party with those who did not install it, and vice versa. Once the code has been redeemed, go to Settings, enter the System Software Update menu and select the Version 7.00 Beta 2.00 item to proceed with the download of 469.7 MB of data and installation.

After the testing phase of the Beta version, during which Sony will make sure that everything is working properly, Firmware 7.0 will be made available to all players with a PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 4 Pro. Before that happens, In any case, it may take several weeks. We take this opportunity to let you know that, if you are having problems downloading the latest system update, in our pages you will find a guide that explains how to resolve the error SU-30645-8.
