Cyberpunk 2077 Pays Tribute to Rutger Hauer: Found a Reference to the Blade Runner Replicant

Cyberpunk 2077 Problems Did the Game Development Start Only in 2015

Cyberpunk 2077 fans who populate the ResetEra videogame forum claim to have tracked down, among the cinematic scenes of the E3 2019 video, a clear reference to the Blade Runner replicant starring Rutger Hauer, the famous Dutch actor who died on July 19 at the age of 75 years.

To Rutger Hauer and, in this case, to the leader of the “leather works” returned to Earth to escape the mocking fate written by the programmed obsolescence of the androids of Blade Runner is in fact dedicated a subway stop that innervates the fabric of Night’s public transport City.

The code name (or rather, the factory serial number ) of the Roy Batty replicant coincides perfectly with the identification code of the Night City subway stop that we could see at the beginning of the Cyberpunk 2077 presentation movie shown to us by CD Projekt at end of Microsoft’s Xbox conference.

The tribute to the talent of Rutger Hauer made by CD Projekt RED, of course, is also a tribute to Ridley Scott’s sci-fi masterpiece, from which the Polish authors drew inspiration to draw the streets of Night City and erect the majestic skylight carpeted of fictitious holographic and neon billboards that characterize the skyline.
