Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will have cross-play support, but matchmaking couplings will be handled in a rather particular way. The game will in practice decide the lobbies according to the type of controls used, and therefore not depending on the platform.
Players using mouse and keyboard will, therefore, be placed in groups including other players using the same type of controller, while those who prefer to use a console pad will be paired with other players with pads.
This was confirmed by the game’s director, Joe Cecot, who said: “We will do matchmaking depending on the control device, so if you play with the keyboard, you will face other players with the keyboard “. Cecot also confirmed that it will not be possible to change the type of controls during the game, so once chosen between mouse and keyboard and joypad, it will remain the same for the duration of the match.
What do you think of this feature? Do you find it right or do you think it is somehow limiting?
