As they have already had occasion to report on more than one occasion, with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare the kids of Infinity Ward intend to propose a realistic experience. This approach will obviously also involve the multiplayer mode, which has just been presented with a spectacular trailer.
For this reason, they have bravely decided to remove the mini-map during online games, a choice that will not fail to make the community discussion. In its place, there is now a compass placed on the upper edge of the screen. The map only appears when a team member uses a Killstreak to request a reconnaissance. In all other situations, however, we must rely on our knowledge of the battlefield, environmental noise, and communication with teammates.
What do you think of this choice? Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, we remember, will be launched on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on October 25th. The release of the game will be preceded by an Open Beta phase which will take place in September in two distinct phases, an exclusive one for PlayStation 4 and another open to all. Both will be available in Early Access for those who have pre-ordered the game. Meanwhile, we advise you to read the preview of the COD: Modern Warfare multiplayer by our Francesco Fossetti, who in the past few days has had the chance to try it in that of Los Angeles.
