During the ChinaJoy 2019, miHoYo developers announced the PS4 version of Genshin Impact. A Zelda enthusiast present at the Chinese videogame fair reacted to the news by staging a protest so vehement as to provoke the intervention of the local authorities.
To tell us about this event is Daniel Ahmad: from the pages of his social channels, the analyst knew in the scene as ZhugeEx illustrated the incident and showed photos depicting the highlights of the protest.
According to Ahmad’s reconstruction, the official presentation of the transposition on PlayStation 4 of Genshin Impact prompted a fan of The Legend of Zelda series to publicly rail against Sony and the developers of the role-playing action considered, both by him and by many employees sector, like a shameless clone of Zelda Breath of the Wild.
At the height of anger, the man opened his backpack and threw his PS4 to the ground, causing the destruction of the body: in one of the photos of ZhugeEx you can note the plastic components flown away from the console due to the impact, leaving part of the aluminium chassis and internal components exposed.
For the bizarre methods used by the young Zelda fan to protest against the public destruction of his console, but also in relation to the relative calm of the people who attended the “show” and the composure of the intervention of the fair’s security personnel, everything lets suppose that it was not an impromptu movement of anger but that everything, on the contrary, is part of a by the boy in anticipation of the probable announcement of the PS4 version of Genshin Impact.
When Mihoyo unveiled Genshin Impact for PS4, many noted the game was inspired by BOTW.
Some fans of BOTW are upset that Sony is promoting this game because of the similarities + they think it’s shameless of Sony.
