During the 2019 edition of the EVO, several novelties were announced in the videogame field, including the presentation of new details on the post-launch support of Tekken 7.
In particular, during the finals of the fighting game, some information was presented on the contents of Tekken 7 Season Pass 3, which will include the characters of Zafina and Leroy Smith. However, on the stage of the event, a rather peculiar clip was also shown, which had Solid Snake as its protagonist and which seemed to suggest a possible debut of the beloved character inside Tekken 7’s roster.
As expected, the possibility has generated a lot of enthusiasm among Metal Gear Saga fans and Tekken 7 players. Unfortunately, the EVO 2019 team thought about dampening the minds, who chose to offer further clarifications on the subject through the official Twitter account of the event. As you can see in the twitter you find at the bottom of this news, the organization said that the video shown during the Tekken 7 finals was just a “little joke” , organized independently and without consulting Bandai Namco. Consequently, it was not intended to imply any reveal. The team concludes the message by apologizing for any confusion generated by the transmission of the clip.
Tekken 7 was not the only protagonist of the EVO 2019, which also saw the announcement of novelties for Soulcalibur VI.
Just to clear things up, the Snake cameo video that we showed during Tekken finals was our idea of a little joke. It was not intended to imply a character reveal, and was done on our own, without consulting Bandai Namco. Sorry for any confusion!
